A PERSIAN NAIN RUG CIRCA SECOND QUARTER OF THE 20TH C.

127: A PERSIAN NAIN RUG CIRCA SECOND QUARTER OF THE 20TH C.

The pile weaving with silk highlights is centered by an ivory multi-pointed central medallion on blue field covered in meandering vines issuing palmettes, flower heads and leaves bracketed by tan spandrels, all within an ivory border enclosing a meander of flowerheads linked by vines.
Measures 72 x 46 inches.
Nice intact original sides and ends, even overall, thick pile. Very good condition, no damage, repair, mothing, stain or odor.
Provenance: Phil Martin Estate. Phil's interest in Persian and Caucasian weavings began in the 1980's when he met Michael Grogan, who was still with Sotheby's at the time.
