'DREAM GARDEN' PRINT AFTER MAXFIELD PARRISH CIRCA 1920

166: 'DREAM GARDEN' PRINT AFTER MAXFIELD PARRISH CIRCA 1920

Maxfield Frederick Parrish (1870-1966)
Dream Garden (Circa 1920.)
This very rare circa 1920 print is based on an equally rare collaboration involving Maxfield Parrish and Louis Comfort Tiffany. Their joining of forces resulted in a monumental stained-glass mosaic mural installation for the lobby of the Curtis Publishing company in Philadelphia, which was dedicated in 1915.

This mechanical print is based on the Maxfield Parrish study of the design for the mural titled Dream Garden, and displayed in a special 'Dream Gardner' frame (no relation) with a carved gesso mat of which only five were made.

Dream Gardner frames are unique contemporary creations of fantasy made by Stephen Hutak. They are painstakingly crafted and finished in colors and techniques inspired by elaborate frame examples found on Maxfield Parrish prints from the 1920s and 1930s.
Overall framed size measures 19.75 x 34.5 inches.
Very good condition, very clean with vibrant color, no damage, stain, punctures, tears or repair. This work is framed to archival standards and displayed behind UV glass to preserve the print's intense, original colors.
