289: A SEVRES LOUIS-PHILIPPE MARK PORCELAIN TABLE SERVICE

The pink ground service with matching border decoration of blue bows in oval reserves within gilt framing joined by colorful floral festoons, all encircling various different hand painted portraits.

The service includes:

One 5 x 8.5 inch compote with portrait titled Madame La Lamballe and Louis-Philippe printed crowned LP mark underside with three incised vertical lines. Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or areas of heavy wear, some light gold wear.

One 5 x 8.5 inch compote with portrait titled Madame Leczinska and Louis-Philippe printed crowned LP mark underside with blue interlaced L's mark overglaze and three incised vertical lines. Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or areas of heavy wear.

Nine 9 3/8 inch service plates with individual portraits of ladies form the court and Louis-Philippe printed crowned LP mark underside with blue interlaced L's mark overglaze. Very good condition throughout. There are no chips, cracks, repairs or major scratches. Most have wear to the gold banner under each portrait and black firing marks commensurate with age.. A tenth matching plate with rim chip is included.

Two covered sauce dishes with acanthus bud finial, one with lengthwise repair to the cover, and one with large chip underside rim of the cover are included. Each has a unique painted portrait and Louis-Philippe printed crowned LP mark underside with blue interlaced L's mark overglaze. There are no other chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or areas of heavy wear to either of theses other than the cover issues.

One 5.5 x 9.5 inch compote with shattered/repaired foot is included as shown in the last image.
