288: SEVRES STYLE FRENCH PORCELAIN AND GILT BRONZE URNS

The celeste blue pair with covers topped by a gilt bronze acanthus bud finial are set with squared Louis XVI influence handles with laurel terminating in lion's head masks each side of the waisted neck with gilt frames enclosing oval vignettes of lovers in 18th century dress on one side, and musical trophies with doves on the opposite. The swollen lower portion is encircled by elaborate scenes of 18th century genre blending with romantic landscapes of architecture beyond swans on a lake, all framed in gold with fine black tracing. Each urn is raised on a socle standard and gilt bronze laurel wreath support atop the square base. Circa late 19th century.
Each measures 15.5 x 6.25 x 5.25 inches.
Very good condition, noting restoration to one cover, brown tape residue to both covers, gold wear to one base as shown. There are no chips, cracks, undisclosed repairs, scratches or other areas of heavy wear.
