The oil on artist's canvas board by this Iowa regionalist known nationally for her work as a muralist and illustrator is signed lower left and titled verso.

During the 1930s a number of Mildred Pelzer's Midwest genre scenes were used as the cover art for Better Homes and Gardens and other magazines. During this same time she completed murals in The Hotel Jefferson and the Waverly, Iowa Post Office under federal commissions including the WPA. She also studied under and served as publicist for Grant Wood and worked with Marvin Cone.
Board measures 14 x 18 with a framed size of 16.75 x 20.75 inches.
Very good original condition free from damage, loss or repair.
