The lithograph published by Associated American Artists in an edition of 250 prints on Rives watermarked paper is signed by the artist in pencil below the image lower right and listed as Fath catalog number 57. This is a fine, dark impression.


Benton's comments in Fath read: Drawing made in 1943 in North Carolina - part of a series of the Tobacco industry made at request of American Tobacco Co. The shed is where the tobacco is dried out with night and day slow fires beneath. There is a painting of this owned by Mr. & Mrs. Constable of Kansas City.
Image measures 8.75 x 13.25, sheet is 11.5 x 16, and frame is 17 x 21.5 inches.
Fair to good condition with the full untrimmed sheet, not laid down, mat burn framing the image, brown tape adhered to the outer edge back side. No tears of repair.
