BIRGER SANDZEN (1871-1954) PENCIL SIGNED LITHOGRAPH

84: BIRGER SANDZEN (1871-1954) PENCIL SIGNED LITHOGRAPH

Birger Sandzén (1871-1954)
Mendenhall (1923)
The rare, large format lithograph on watermarked paper with deckle edge is signed by the artist in pencil below the image lower left and titled lower right. It was apparently privately commissioned and not printed in the same numbers or distributed in the same ways most of Sandzen's graphic works would have been. The image is listed in the artist's catalog raisonne as Greenough number 82.
Image measures 14.75 x 20, sheet is 18 x 24, and frame is 25 x 29 inches.
Very good condition, the full untrimmed sheet, not laid down, four deckle edges, no damage, stain, punctures, tears or repair. There is the slightest light but very even overall cream toning overall, very slightly darker in the margins, five strips of brown tape along the top edge front as shown.
