5563: A 1930s PERSIAN SAROUK PICTORIAL RUG WITH TREES

The rare pictorial Persian area rug is hand knotted to create a closely packed field of flowering trees with foliates and birds on a painted field enclosed by gold guard borders and a navy blue border with flower heads and small florals on a meandering vine with perfectly resolved corners.
Measures 80 x 52 inches.
Very good condition. Clean and odor free with intact edges having their original red wrap, intact ends with short runs of the original skirt macrame still present in limited areas, no damage, repair, hardened areas, pet stain or other major stain.
