461A: AN 18C. CARVED AND GESSOED FIGURE ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE

The large, hollow, carved wood santo figure with open cloak and traces of gesso covered in many layers of paint is hewn from a single piece of wood and enclosed with hewn wood back of the same period. The hands are assumed to be replacements.
Measures 38 x 17 x 13 inches.
Good condition free from major damage or repair, the hands are assumed to be replacements, no other replacements have been detected, though one foot may be a later addition.
