The rectangular frame is arranged with pierce carved panels top and bottom that most likely originated with a piece of furniture or architectural application from the 19th century. The carvings retain highlights of red, black, gilt embellishment and mica fleck decoration.
Measures 40.75 x 19 inches.
Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear.
Provenance: The collection of Josephine Bird Hall (1888 - 1948) by descent to her son, the present owner. Josephine's father was a founder of Kansas City's Emery, Bird, Thayer Department Store.
