The panorama of sky with purple clouds at sunset above ocean waves and rock formations on the horizon also includes a lone Piper Aztec twin engine aircraft in the sky. A brass plaque below the image tells the story behind the composition:

2130 Zebra on 9 April 1960.

Grace Harris and Max Conrad flew the first Piper Aztec N4613P from Boston to Paris via Gander N.F. (Newfoundland and Labrador) in 19 hours 20 minutes.

The painting is signed lower left and dated 1960.
Canvas measures 29 x 37 with a framed size of 35 x 43 inches.
Very good condition, noting two older repairs and some corresponding inpainting upper right quadrant.
