383: VIENNESE ENAMELS AND BATTERSEA W/KING CHARLES SPANIEL

The three works of English and Continental enamel:

1. A Continental enamel stein with hinged lid gilt cover and foot and oval reserve with maiden in 18th century dress on red enamel ground.

2. A Continental enamel tankard with hinged lid and gilt mounts and oval reserve with maiden in 18th century dress on red enamel ground.

3. A Battersea enamel box with King Charles Spaniel and motto.
Sizes range from 1.25 to 2.75 inches.
There is a missing cabochon from the flagon cover, minor overall wear and the normal lines in the battersea box with Spaniel.
Provenance: The collection of Josephine Bird Hall (1888 - 1948) by descent to her son, the present owner. Josephine's father was a founder of Kansas City's Emery, Bird, Thayer Department Store.
