The high grade, apparently uncirculated, one dollar gold piece is the ''closed wreath'' version and without mint mark.
Measures 0.5 inches with a weight of 1.6 grams.
Very crisp detail and high points overall with some light frost.
Provenance: The collection of Josephine Bird Hall (1888 - 1948) by descent to her son, the present owner. Josephine's father was a founder of Kansas City's Emery, Bird, Thayer Department Store.
