5158: A PAIR COALPORT COALBROOKDALE BOLTED VASES - AS FOUND

The pair of slender pink ground bottle vases with gilt openwork ribbon handles and cartouche reserves of beautifully rendered florals one side, and exotic long-tailed pheasants on the other. The bolted base is signed by blue underglaze CBD (Coalbrookdale) mark underside of each bolted base.
Each measures 13.75 x 5 inches.
Each vase is badly cracked as shown.
Provenance: The collection of Josephine Bird Hall (1888 - 1948) by descent to her son, the present owner. Josephine's father was a founder of Kansas City's Emery, Bird, Thayer Department Store.
