419: A PAIR OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE 19TH CENTURY ENTREE DISHES

The footed pair with covers are each comprised of multiple elements as shown and embellished with applied shell, foliate and gadrooned borders. Both are engraved with a family crest and stamped with a crown motif maker's mark as well as consecutive numbering of numerals 1 and 2.
Each measures 8.5 x 14 x 10 inches.
Very good condition, noting the engraved family name in multiple places throughout each, including the underside of the removable handles.
Provenance: The collection of Josephine Bird Hall (1888 - 1948) by descent to her son, the present owner. Josephine's father was a founder of Kansas City's Emery, Bird, Thayer Department Store.
