The late 19th, early 20th century Pompeian influence cast bronze brazier or jardinière with circular receptacle ringed in pierced spires with rolled edge is supported by three satyrs, each raised on a singular paw foot. The form is directly inspired by examples excavated at Pompeii.
Measures 35.5 x 21 x 21 inches.
Very good intact condition, noting the effects of exposure to the elements as shown in the images.
Provenance: The collection of Josephine Bird Hall (1888 - 1948) by descent to her son, the present owner. Josephine's father was a founder of Kansas City's Emery, Bird, Thayer Department Store.
