393: AN EDOUARD ERNIE FRENCH VICTORIAN SILVER TABLE SERVICE

The boxed suite of elaborate silver serving pieces are constructed in silver over copper and .800 silver with hallmarks in Louis XVI style with Marie Antoinette bust on each handle. The piece types include a manche a gigot d'agneau (leg of lamb holder), asparagus server, carving set, cold meat fork, fish slice, pierced spoons, etc as shown - all in the original - though worn and damaged - presentation box.
Sizes range from 6.5 to 12.75 inches.
Good condition, noting copper showing on two handles, no other heavy wear, each piece is monogrammed on each side of its handle. No damage or repair, excepting the box itself.
Provenance: The collection of Josephine Bird Hall (1888 - 1948) by descent to her son, the present owner. Josephine's father was a founder of Kansas City's Emery, Bird, Thayer Department Store.
