342: A PAIR MINIATURE 19TH CENTURY CHINESE CLOISONNE CENSORS

The unusual diminutive pair just over six inches high with cloisonné enamels on gilt bronze are comprised of tapering covers having bands of pierced and gilt lotus scrolls fitted to deep basins with wide shaped rims in six lobes trimmed with archaistic border, all raised on three gilt cabriole legs issued from foo dog masks.
Each measures 6.5 x 5 x 5 inches.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or areas of wear.
Provenance: The collection of Josephine Bird Hall (1888 - 1948) by descent to her son, the present owner. Josephine's father was a founder of Kansas City's Emery, Bird, Thayer Department Store.
