Perhaps the handle to a wax seal or some other object, the nickel plated brass casting set with glass eyes is in the form of what is for some reason referred to as a dolphin when a part of furniture, decorative arts and even book bindings.
The condition is as shown in the images. There are no undisclosed repairs.
