280: TWO VANDERMARK MERRITT CUT BACK ART GLASS PAPERWEIGHTS

Two examples of glass artist Barry Sautner's work at Vandermark Merritt Studios in the early 1980's showcase his creative designs cut through the iridescent surface to matte finished cobalt glass using acid cutting technique:

1. Barry Sautner: iridized unicorn paperweight. Etched: 'Vandermark Merritt 1983 Barry Sautner. Diameter is 3.392 inches.

2. Barry Sautner: iridized penguins paperweight. Etched: 'Vandermark Merritt 1982 Barry Sautner. Diameter is 3.303 inches.
