217: THOMAS HART BENTON PEN AND INK SKETCH, AUTOGRAPHS

A Blue Springs, Missouri attorney named Tom Watson was active as counsel and informal administrator of activities for a juried organization of artists known as Cowboy Artists of America from the 1960s until his passing in 2012. It was Tom's pleasure to present artists with a blank cowhide card and collect their autograph, which often came with some original artwork. This lot of three such cowhide cards includes an original sketch by Thomas Hart Benton (1889 - 1975) as well as the artist's autographs.
Each measures 3 x 3.75 inches.
Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair or wear.
Provenance: The estate of Tom Watson, Honorary Member of the Cowboy Artists of America.
