40: NATIVE AMERICAN STERLING AND TURQUOISE JEWELRY

The collection includes:

1. A sterling silver messenger bird with turquoise.

2. A sterling silver cuff offsetting triangular turquoise stones either side of a central round cabochon.

3. A sterling silver cuff made from two half-round bands set with five turquoise nuggets.

4. A 19th century engraved bone needle case with bone needle.
Pendant measures 4.5 x 1.75, needle case is 3.5 x 1.25 inches. Bracelet with turquoise nuggets has an inside circumference of 7 inches around with a 1-inch gap, Width is 0.625 inches. Bracelet with the triangular stones has an inside circumference of 7.5 inches and a 1.25-inch gap, width is 0.75 inches.
Very good condition throughout.
Provenance: The 40 year collection of Father Tom Wiederholt, Kansas City, Missouri. Tom was a close personal friend of scholar and curator Ralph 'Ted' Coe who advised Tom on most of his acquisitions.
