45: JOYCE GROWING THUNDER FOGARTY AND OTHER BUCKLES

Three late 20th century examples of beadwork buckles, lead by the first pictured in this lineup which is attributed to the Assiniboine Sioux, Dakota beadwork master Joyce Growing Thunder Fogarty (Born 1950).

Two other buckles, including one nice example with geometric designs executed in pony light blue, dark blue, light green, dark green, white, tan and black beads are included. The third piece, predominantly pink, has loss of beads.
Measures 2.5 x 3.75, 2.75 x 4, and 3 x 4.5 inches.
Very good condition, noting bead loss on the pink example.
Provenance: The 40 year collection of Father Tom Wiederholt, Kansas City, Missouri. Tom was a close personal friend of scholar and curator Ralph 'Ted' Coe who advised Tom on most of his acquisitions.
