The domed German Silver medallion with applied brass bison floating over a sweat lodge accented by a ceremonial smoking pipe with copper (representing catlinite) pipe bowl is suspended from rawhide with tube beads similar to those comprising bone breastplates and arrowhead drops. The metal work is signed verso with date of 1982 and title Sweat Lodge Vision #4.

Having been given the name Pretty Voice Hawk by his grandfather in family tradition, Mitchell signs his work PVH.
Necklace length measures 19.5 inches, the medallion measures 3.5 inches and the drops measure an additional 8 inches.
Very good original condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear.
Provenance: The 40 year collection of Father Tom Wiederholt, Kansas City, Missouri. Tom was a close personal friend of scholar and curator Ralph 'Ted' Coe who advised Tom on most of his acquisitions.
