The Acoma Pueblo potter jar decorated in panels of geometrics on th classic form with flared shoulder and rising neck is signed 'B M Terivio Acoma N. Mex' in unknown hand. There are Acoma potters who spell their last name Torivio.
Measures 7.5 x 8 x 8 inches.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs. There are scattered minor spots of light wear and rubs as shown.
Provenance: The 40 year collection of Father Tom Wiederholt, Kansas City, Missouri. Tom was a close personal friend of scholar and curator Ralph 'Ted' Coe who advised Tom on most of his acquisitions.
