19: AN APACHE BEADED STRIKE-A-LIGHT POUCH CIRCA 1900

The native tanned hide pouch with flap fastened by a patinated brass button softened and smoothed from use is beaded in wine red, two colors of blue, white and bits of yellow and green on cotton thread creating floating chevrons in vertical rows.
Measures 6.5 x 4.75 with a handle drop of 3.5 inches.
Very good original condition, there are no issues of damage or repair, light wear in some areas.
Provenance: The 40 year collection of Father Tom Wiederholt, Kansas City, Missouri. Tom was a close personal friend of scholar and curator Ralph 'Ted' Coe who advised Tom on most of his acquisitions.
