249: A GOOD 18TH CENTURY ITALIAN BURR WALNUT COMMODE

The clean lines of the serpentine face and reverse serpentine sides flush with the top all around are an unusual feature of this parquetry commode displaying bands of heavily figured walnut inlay on the drawer fronts, sides and top. Each drawer retains the original primitive iron lock and rococo handles. The whole is raised on four short cabriole legs (one is a replacement).
Measures 36.5 x 57 x 24.5 inches.
Good condition throughout, noting the back legs have been repaired and or replaced, no other damage or repair, no heavy wear or abuse, original back and secondary.
