The nicely drafted and complex image of a figure partially obscured by forest ground cover is signed lower right with the artist's monogram. The image is in the style of sepia tone artwork used to illustrate magazine serials of the early 20th century.

The Century Magazine. Ladies Home Journal and Woman's Home Companion are just a few of the serial publications Pfeifer's works illustrated. His work also illustrated complete books of the day. Pfeifer's studies include the tutelage of Howard Pyle.
Image measures 8.25 x 25 with a framed size of 16.5 x 33.75 inches.
Apparently the condition is very good, very clean, intact, no visible stain, damage, repair, punctures or tears. This work has not been examined outside the frame.
