AFTER ETIENNE-HENRI DUMAIGE (1830 - 1888) BRONZE

254: AFTER ETIENNE-HENRI DUMAIGE (1830 - 1888) BRONZE

(Third quarter of the 19th Century.)
The circa 1875 bronze sculpture of a classical maiden on an architectural column with lion head masks is cast after a model by the French sculptor Etienne-Henri Dumaige and retains an exceptional rich dark brown patina. The figure is displayed on a grey marble base of conforming shape with bronze rim. There are no markings or signatures, save a five digit number back side. This example was produced in, or shortly after, the original artist's lifetime.
Measures 28.5 x 14.75 x 10.5 inches.
Very good original, untouched condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear, nice patina overall, minor wear to high points of the marble base and some darkening of same.
