255: A THIN, ANTIQUE BIDJAR WITH CENTRAL MEDALLION

The circa 1920 example of wool on cotton with nice colors that include the terracotta field having a central salmon red rhombus framed by blue pendants and supported by meandering vines issuing palmettes and flower heads ending in elongated leaves; the blue and pale blue floral spandrels at the inner corners are all within the blue border of palmettes linked by angular vines issuing palmettes flower heads and leaves.
Measures 87 x 57 inches.
Clean and odor free with intact edges, though with heavy wear, intact ends, some with original skirts with wool stitch, no major damage, mothing, repair or stain.
Provenance: The estate of Bob and Emma Stewart, Warrensburg, Missouri.
