285: AN UNUSUAL DAUM NANCY SCENIC CAMEO BOWL WITH ENAMEL

(Late 19th/Early 20th Century.)
The bowl with unusual, thick enameled rim decorated in a repeating pattern of flower heads is acid etched with en grisalle cameo relief scenic landscape of river and distant village. The smooth green upper area shades to a textured clear lower area embellished with gilded ginkgo leaves in relief. The underside of the base is signed with gilt Daum Nancy Cross of Lorraine mark on the pontil.
Measures 4 x 5 x 6 inches.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks or repairs to any glass surface, any relief decoration whether enamel or glass or thick enamel decoration at the rim. There is irregular coverage or wear to the wide gold band inside the rim. There are no other issues of wear to any raised decoration or other areas, no enamel loss, no damage.
