DUARD MARSHALL (1914-2010) PENCIL SIGNED LITHOGRAPH

88: DUARD MARSHALL (1914-2010) PENCIL SIGNED LITHOGRAPH

Duard Marshall (1914-2010)
Florissant, Colo. (1946)
The lithograph from an edition of only 20 prints is signed and dated by the artist in pencil below the image lower right and titled lower left. An inscription lower center reads 'For Louis and Elsie Freund.'

Louis Freund was an important Missouri Regionalist painter who executed murals under the New Deal and was responsible for the establishment of a number of schools for artists. Elsie Freund was an artist, jewelry designer and crafts person.

Duard Marshall, most associated with Kansas City, Missouri, was also a muralist and a student of Thomas Hart Benton. Marshall was, for a time, himself a Regionalist portraying the American scene as demonstrated by the image being offered here.
Image size 13.25 x 16, frame measures 22 x 25 inches.
Very good to fine condition, the full untrimmed sheet, not laid down, no damage, stain, puncture or repair; framed to archival standards in acid free mounts. Because this print is from a collection well-known by this auction firm for more than twenty years, it has not been removed from its framing for inspection. As with all lots we offer, the condition is guaranteed to be as stated or a full refund will be issued.
