The still life composition depicting a bent wood 'bushel' basket of stave construction, common in the 19th century, depicted spilling corn with kernels painted in the distinctive thick impasto technique unique to Montgomery. On rare occasion, the artist included a fall pumpkin in his paintings celebrating a bountiful harvest. This work is signed lower left front.
Canvas measures 18 x 24, frame size 24.5 x 30.5 inches.
Very good original untouched condition. There are no issues of major scratches, losses, repairs, in-painting or touch-up.
