A NAVAJO LATE CLASSIC THIRD PHASE MAN'S BLANKET C. 1900

80: A NAVAJO LATE CLASSIC THIRD PHASE MAN'S BLANKET C. 1900

The nicely woven blanket of handspun wool in ivory, dark brown, red and violet yarns woven in a pattern generally referred to as Navajo Third Phase Chief's design comprised of eight partial diamond designs equally spaced around the perimeter and enclosing a central stepped interior diamond having serrated edges - all overlaid upon narrow bands running along each long edge as well as down the center within wider horizontal bands of black and ivory.
Measures 53.5 x 73 inches.
Good condition, noting a stepped pattern of loss to one corner; otherwise very good condition with only one 1/4 inch hole as shown in the last images which are back lit by bright sunlight, otherwise intact condition without stain, mothing, insect effects, edge loss, wear, odor, pet stain or issues beyond one side of the piece that does have some pale red dyes that have bled onto the ivory to a very, very minor degree and mentioned only out of critical examination. Very sturdy and good overall.
