The depiction of an anthropomorphic maskette in the style of the metalwork of ancient Panama cast in approximately 14 karat gold with bail for wearing as a pendant. Tests to at least 14 karat.

Originally, the gold figurines and depictions created by the Amerindians of South America served as trading objects, ornamentation and symbols of power and status. Animals were popular subjects as were mythical figures.
Measures 1.25 x 1.5 inches with a weight of 15.9 grams.
Very good condition.
