7: ELABORATE WESTERN SADDLE & BREASTPLATE SIGNED SHIPLEY

The saddle with hand wide tooled and leather laced undercut swell having nickel horn is profusely tooled on every surface except the seat in fine, deep floral decoration, including on the leather wrapped stirrups; and mounted with metal adornment. Signed CHAS. P. SHIPLEY MAKER KANSAS CITY on the fenders and seat with number 292. Further stamped HEN and 12-15-16 under the left fender. A matching hand carved leather breastplate with matching metal mounts and Shipley maker's marks is included.
Measures inches from the base of the horn to the inside edge of the cantle.
Very good original condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear. Some leather strings may be replaced, minor horizontal bulge to one of the wide leather fenders.
