The Native American motif wood pipe stem is fitted with a pipe bowl carved from catlinite, also known as pipestone, a form of argillite, the fine-grained sedimentary rock quarried by Plains Indians for hundreds at the the only place on earth where it exists - a site now known as Pipestone National Monument outside Pipestone, Minnesota. This site has been sacred to the indigenous of North America for centuries. Non-natives are not allowed to mine pipestone.
Measures 3.5 x 5.5 x 1 and 17.75 inches without stand.
Very good original condition, there are no issues of damage or repair.
