151: A CALIFORNIA HAVASUPI TWINED BASKETRY BOWL WITH COLORS

The basketry bowl with coiled rod rim wrapped in material that appears to have alternated between wraps dyed in aniline red spaced by natural material around the rim, now somewhat faded with time. Below this, the twined body also displays traces of aniline dyed material in colors of orange, red and a sort of aubergine. The form is a nice, slightly ovoid form tapering from the bulbous base to the slightly tapered neck.
Measures 6 x 9.25 inches.
Very good condition. There are no breaks, splits, losses, repairs, stains, or areas of heavy wear.
