139: A COMMERCIALLY MADE PURSE WITH PLAINS REGION BEADING

The circa 1900 purse with plated brass frame is fitted with a Native tanned hide handle covered in glass beads. The remainder is fitted with a Native tanned hide covering embellished in lazy stitched sinew-sewn glass bead decoration of navy blue, white heart red, faceted steel, green, yellow, and sky blue beads on a field of opalescent beading. Each side displays a different floating geometric design field.
Measures 6.25 x 5.5 inches.
Good condition, noting the typical effects of age, use and carrying. There are no issues of damage, loss or repair.
