A LARGE YORUK BASKETRY BOWL 18 INCHES DIAMETER

13: A LARGE YORUK BASKETRY BOWL 18 INCHES DIAMETER

The large example, circa 1910, has a thick, pronounced top rim of overlapping rods with heavy wrap above the bowl sides woven in two colors of interlocking geometric designs above a base laced with a hide center encircled by wrapped rods and a band of weaving that differs from the technique of the upper portions.
Measures 9 x 18.75 inches.
Good condition, noting some loss of wrap from the base rods, otherwise very good condition with nice, warm patina.
